FRESNO, Calif  - After a narrow defeat in Oklahoma City, Orange County SC travel north to take on Fresno FC.

OCSC is currently 11th in the table, just one point and one place behind the Foxes. However, the points spread is still very tight this early in the season, and positive results for either side could see the teams jump as many as seven places up the table. Last year, OC took all six points from the two matches, including a late-goal thriller in Fresno that capped off Orange County’s impressive late summer run.

Fresno’s sophomore season has been going well thus far, and they are the only club in the Western Conference to have not lost a match. However, the team sits in tenth, having only played five matches thus far. The Foxes are coming off of a bye week, but their last match was a commanding 3-1 victory over Tulsa Roughnecks FC. It was the first time the team had scored multiple goals against a team in the top half of the table, but questions remain about the Foxes’ ability to recreate that performance.

Defense will be critical for Orange County this week, as Fresno is known for playing a very direct attacking game. But the hosts rarely maintain possession, meaning that it should be an exciting game for the Orange County attackers to create numerous goal scoring chances. All signs point to a dominant performance, one that will send the club back up the table.

The match kicks off at 7.30 Pacific at Chukchansi Park in Fresno. The game will also be broadcast live on ESPN+ in the United States.

Highlights:

  • OC’s 19% shot conversion rate is good for fourth best in the Western Conference.

  • The Foxes have conceded just three goals through the first five games of their 2019 campaign
