Week Three of the 2024 Orange & Black Soccercast Playing for Pride fantasy league is in the books and we’ve got a new leader and some movement in the standings after OC falls 2-4 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
It’s always rough having a GK on your team in a high scoring game. Well, when the goals are against you, I suppose. As Ray said on the podcast after week 2, It’s a high risk, high reward. Clean sheet gets you a lot of points, but as soon as more than 1 goal is conceded, those GK-points evaporate quickly.
The same happened this week and most of participants who moved up the standings did not have a GK on their rosters.
Bryce Jamison unsurprisingly leads the scoring this week with his 2-goal performance netting 9 points, followed by Ashish Chattha with 6 points, Ashton Miles with 4, and a bunch of other lads with 3. If I did the math right, the hypothetical high score could be 25 points if you had the right combination of players. No one had that roster, so the highest scoring fantasy roster this week gained 16 points. We actually had two players score 16 points- should out to Melissa C and Carlos R for getting lucky this week.
Here is your leaderboard after Week 3:
You can compare to Week 2 standings if you’re a glutton for punishment.
Good luck to everyone this week against Indy XI who are on an absolute tear- 8-game win streak, 9-game unbeaten. They haven’t lost a game since April 13. As we’ve seen, you can still rack up points with an Orange County loss- but it’s hard.
