First- What did listeners think the FT result would be? Most people thought it’d be an OC win (red)- with draw (yellow) and loss (blue) just about splitting the remaining difference.
It’s kind of at that point of the season where fans start asking themselves “This undefeated string can’t last, can it?”
But how’d it end up? If you watched on KCAL 9, which was honestly awesome and a completely different discussion (check out Monday’s podcast for our discussion of that), you saw we ended in a 0-0 draw that saw both teams with some chances but no one able to collect a goal and split the points. Considering SAFC has only lost two home games in the last two seasons, it feels like getting out of Toyota Field with one point is somewhat of a victory in itself. With a late Shutler scratch and Duran Ferree getting his first OC start, a solid midfield, and really good play from the two center backs- we’ll take the draw. There’s starting to be some separation in the scores though, with Kayvon jumping out a little with 20 points, Andy and Taylor tied on 19, and Nathan filling out the podium with 17.
