Glædelig jul! Merry Christmas (or Happy Hanukkah)! Thomas Enevoldsen is back in Orange County. After spending the 2019 season with Indy Eleven and Sacramento Republic, the Dane will return to Orange County on a two year contract (article in Danish).
He is the second Danish signing, joining up with compatriot Frederik Due at the other end of the pitch. Enevoldsen is strong, quick, and creative. He demands a lot of himself and his teammates, but it is this tenacity that makes him a natural leader on the pitch.
Enevoldsen’s name will be familiar to those around the league, as he boasts one of the best attacking records in the USL over the last two years. In his first season with OCSC, Enevoldsen scored 21 goals and assisted on 10. Even in the defensive-oriented Indy side, he still scored six goals. Following his transfer to Sacramento for the second half of 2019, he scored 10 and assisted four in 15 appearances.
His quality is evident, but his experience also commands a level of respect. Enevoldsen was capped at the 2010 World Cup, represented his boyhood club in the UEFA Champions League, and received USL First Team All League honors in 2018.
Enevoldsen will be a key player on and off the pitch as Orange County ushers in a younger side full of talent in the coming years.
Velkommen tilbage, Thomas! We can’t wait to see you again.
