All professional sports are businesses at heart that after some time would like to see some returns made on investments. One of the bigger sources of income that OC possesses is their youth academy. When comparing OCSC’s academy to other USL academies, Orange County has placed themselves into the elite in terms of developing and selling off players for a profit. It is a way of running a club that is proven in other parts of the world and one that OC has looked to establish in a very deep and talented Southern California market.

Orange County SC got a much needed goal from Ethan Zubak and were able to rely on a makeshift defensive line in front of Colin Shutler to steal a victory to end Indy’s 10 game win streak.

Then the week after happened and OC lost both its starting midfielder and their head coach.

The argument can be made that Orange County is in panic mode. Losers of four consecutive games, two goals scored in previous four games, nine goals conceded in that time span. To compound those matters even more is the fact that Orange County will also be without their starting center back Ashton Miles and head coach Morten Karlsen due to suspension.

At least the jerseys look nice.

While Sacramento looked like a team from another planet, Orange County saw their unbeaten streak end at six games.
