Orange County SC Week in Review, Feb. 2-8 2020
With the pre-season here and the season opener quickly approaching, the week was filled with plenty of OCSC news and scores. Here is a recap of what happened this week:
Rangers Players Head to Orange County SC, Francis Jacobs to Play With Rangers U-16
Orange County SC announced the addition of not one, not two, but three players on loan from Rangers FC. Cammy Palmer, Danny Finlayson and Matthew Shiels will join the club for the entirety of the 2020 season. It was also announced that OCSC youngster Francis Jacobs will join the Rangers U-16 team to defend their Alkass International Cup victory from 2019. All-in-all, it was a great way to kick off the recently announced partnership.
Orange County SC Lose 1-2 to NYCFC in Second Pre-Season Match
Orange County SC played the MLS club on the Long Beach State campus, and although the match was interrupted by rouge sprinklers, the teams put in a good 90 minutes of work. Orange County fans were asking who was that after Gevorg Ohanyan scored the teams first goal of the pre-season.
Orange County SC Announces Promotional Schedule, Event Series, Theme Nights and Premium Giveaway Items for the 2020 Season
With the season quickly approaching, and fans inquiring about what to expect at the home matches, the club announced their promotional schedule, which includes three beer fests (3/21, 7/25, 10/17), five Friday night fireworks displays (3/6, 4/17, 5/29, 8/7, 9/18), and three KidzCon events (4/4, 5/16, 8/29), along with the announcement of $1 beer nights for each of the Friday night games and much more.
Former Rangers Defender Rob Kiernan to Join Orange County SC
Orange County SC continued building their relationship with Rangers FC and local fans by announcing the signing of former Rangers defender Rob Kiernan. It was a welcome signing for OCSC supporters who were desperate for the announcement of some incoming veteran players.
Orange County SC 3-1 LMU, First Win of the Pre-Season
Orange County wrapped up their busy week with their first pre-season win over local university Loyola Marymount on Saturday 3-1. It’s great to see the club continue to build relationship with local teams by scheduling pre-season friendlies.
