A week after a tough road loss to Tacoma to open their season, Orange County Soccer Club returned home to welcome not only Sacramento Republic to town, but also fans back into the stadium. The team looked a little flat their first game so Orange County was hoping that their home crowd would fire them up and fire them up they did.
Orange County Soccer Club and Sacramento Republic FC took to the pitch even on points with hopes of securing fourth place and a home playoff game spot on the line for both teams. While they cannot get to fourth place on their own, both teams came into the game hoping to get three points to put pressure on Real Monarchs.
A midweek match up that could determine fourth place, and a home playoff match, saw Orange County Soccer Club travel to Utah to meet up with Real Monarchs SLC. Real Monarchs have been pretty dominant at home this year, so Orange County had a tough task ahead of them.
A playoff place has been secured for Orange County following their 2-0 victory over 10 man OKC Energy FC over the weekend. Now the side will head to Utah to take on Real Monarchs, the first of two crucial road matches that will determine which team will take fourth place and the final home playoff spot.
